Mountaineering tradition meets performance and a design tailored specifically for the female foot – this is Stellar W'S GTX. Stellar W’S GTX is a nimble, crampon-compatible boot for high altitude mountaineering, as well as speed ascents on rock, mixed, snow and ice, and climbing. Its secret is the new construction technique used for the sole unit: the foot sits directly on top of the soft dual density PU midsole to maximize cushioning and ensure precise foot placement, as well as providing impact resistance on rough terrain. Thanks to its anatomic construction, the precision and technical features of this mountaineering boot are further enhanced by a feel which is more akin to a snug, super-comfortable trail shoe. SOLE The innovative Vibram® Stellar sole unit has been designed exclusively for Kayland. The internal construction features a honeycomb design that lightens the structure, enhances thermal insulation and delivers excellent shock absorption. The midsole is in dual density PU foam, and this sits above the PU insole, which is also perforated to reduce weight and increase torsional stability. The sole unit contains an integrated welt to take a semi-automatic crampon, making this the perfect partner for your alpine adventures. UPPER The foot-hugging upper is made of microfibre and abrasion-resistant fabric, and features an extremely durable rubber toe bumper. The elasticated wrap-around gusseted tongue is open on one side only. It wraps the shin and ankle bone perfectly without overlaps or compression points: the fit is made even more comfortable by the hard-wearing and light protective edge and lycra cuff. LINING The lining features the Gore-Tex Performance Comfort membrane guaranteeing total waterproofing and breathability. FIT The modular differentiated lacing system adapts perfectly to the instep and ensures an outstandingly precise fit, which is further enhanced by the highly advanced asymmetrical positioning of the closure that allows correct flex. The Kayland Ankle Lock System protects the ankle and holds it firmly in place whilst allowing totally natural movement. The heel is well anchored and ergonomic padding prevents blisters.
